About Pouring
I was fortunate enough to participate in a number of pours which are listed on this page (though I participated in a couple at UCD which aren't listed below). I got to pour iron, bronze and aluminum.  The pours were not only about the hot molten metals but about the sculptures we created and about teaching the public the art of sculpting and working with metals. Sometimes I was pouring the molten metal and other times I was doing demonstrations, working with children, or answering questions. For more information about our iron/bronze/aluminum pours please take a look at the club website at:

The images here are from the iron pour on November 15th, 2006. We were pouring at the University of Colorado at Denver and Metrostate campus in Denver, Colorado. We did not have an audience as much as other pours but it was my first time pouring iron and it was intense and scary. I stayed on the sidelines and videotaped and photographed what I could. This pour was before I purchased my safety gear, the competition for the gear that we could borrow was intense, a lot of students were present.
The images here are from the bronze pour on October 6th-7th 2006. We were pouring at the BAC in Manitou Springs, Colorado. We had quite a turn out.
